Curious about the state of global environmental governance? Join the Fall 2018 International Environmental Politics class in the Robert A. Jones House Conference Room on the Middlebury College campus for a set of video screenings on Wednesday, December 5th starting at 4:30pm. Students will present extensively-researched and engaging videos illustrating the drivers of some contemporary environmental problems, the institutions in place to manage them, and point out ways in which this governance can and should be improved. The topics covered will be:
Fast fashion, labor abuses, and water pollution from garment manufacturing in the Global South
Nuclear power management and waste disposal
Transboundary e-waste and environmental justice/racism
Shark conservation and shark fin products
After the videos, there will be a Q&A for audience members. Light refreshments will be served.
