Jessi's work creating forums women, new hunters, and others whose experiences challenge common conceptions of the hunting community provides powerful insights and inspiration for any with an eye to the future of hunting and conservation. We'll begin with Jessi's stories from the field, and conclude with conversation and camaraderie - join us in Burlington on December 10th, or in Montpelier on December 11th
Jess Johnson is a founder of Artemis Sportswoman, a Wyoming chapter board member for Backcountry Hunters and Anglers, and the National Wildlife Foundation program coordinator at the Wyoming Wildlife Foundation. Her work centers on changing the narrative around stereotypes of hunters and creating platforms for women's voices within the hunting and conservation world. Jess grew up an only child of a ranching family in Montana, Northern California and Wyoming, where her eclectic childhood instilled in her a wanderlust for wide expanses of public land, and a deep appreciation and love for the wildlife that inhabit it. She spends most of her free time archery hunting and exploring the mountains and rolling sage brush slopes of Wyoming.
