Come join Cabot Community Theater for our spring production of Norton Juster's wonderful Phantom Tollbooth! We need teens, adults, and kids of all ages for parts large and small. There are over 30 speaking roles ranging from comic to serious, from brief to extensive, and various non-speaking roles for younger and/or shyer performers. Everyone is welcome, from Cabot and from nearby towns.
Auditions will be at the Cabot School Performing Arts Center, right in Cabot village, from 2-5pm on Sunday, Dec 2 and Saturday Dec 8. No appointment needed, just come ready to read from the script, and to stay for 30-40 minutes to read with various people. If you're not a good sight-reader, feel free to prepare a short monologue (memorized or not) if you feel that will demonstrate your acting skills better. (If you want a non-speaking part, we'd just like to meet you and chat a bit.)
The play tells the story of Milo, who is perpetually bored until accidentally traveling to a remarkable and fantastical world where he discovers the wonders that have been around him all along. (We plan to have a few different actors (any gender) playing Milo and his companions in various scenes, to give multiple people the chance for a central role, and make the memorization and rehearsal commitment more manageable.)
Rehearsals (mostly weekend afternoons, plus some evenings for older actors) will begin in January. Performances will be March 29-31, in CSPAC. For more information, call 793-5617 or email karen@praxisworks.org
Cabot Community Theater enthusiastically welcomes participants of all ages, races, religions, genders, gender expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, and levels of experience. We have a demonstrated history of inclusivity and flexibility in casting, and strive to foster an accepting and supportive environment both within our group and in the wider community.
