Vermont Fiddle Orchestra Performance

The Vermont Fiddle Orchestra under the directorship of David Kaynor will perform their annual Winter Concert on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 7 PM at the Unitarian Church at 130 Main Street in Montpelier.

The guest soloist will be Sarah Hotchkiss accompanied by John Mowad. Sarah is the founder of the VFO and was the director for the first 10 years. John was the VFO's first assistant director and accompanist. The program will include traditional and contemporary fiddle tunes as well as tunes composed by David and John.

The VFO is a community orchestra with musicians from teenagers to folks in their 70s and abilities ranging from beginners to fiddle contest winners. Instruments include fiddles, violas, celli, bass, guitars, mandolin, banjo and winds (flutes, penny whistles and recorders).

Because the VFO loves to bring the joy of fiddle music to the community, this concert will be by donation, thanks in part to generous donations from Vermont Mutual Insurance Co and the Northfield Savings Bank.

The VFO will also perform a benefit concert with a slightly different program on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 4 PM at the Green Mountain Gospel Chapel in Randolph to benefit the Randolph Senior Center.

The program will include traditional and contemporary fiddle tunes as well as tunes composed by David Kaynor and John Mowad. Tickets are $10 with children 12 & under by donation.
