Ever Considered Volunteering for AARP Tax-Aide?

Learn about this AARP Foundation-sponsored program at a Volunteer Information meeting on Monday December 3, 1:00 to 3:30 PM at the Montpelier Senior Activities Center, 58 Barre Street. You don't have to be a tax expert, although tax return preparation is what we do, primarily for those over 50 or those with low to moderate incomes. If you are reasonably comfortable with numbers and internet use, you could enjoy being a Return Preparer. Other roles include Quality Review of the prepared returns with the client, Client Facilitator to welcome waiting clients and help with their intake questionnaire, or leadership or administration positions. Central Vermont sites include the Montpelier, Twin Valley and Barre Senior Centers; Waterbury Library. Extensive training and support services are provided jointly by the IRS, Vermont Tax Department and the AARP Foundation. Please join us for the drop in session, or contact me via email. I'd be happy to give you a call if you have questions or meet at another time if this is inconvenient. Volunteer as little as one day a week, we start doing returns in February and continue until mid-April.
