Preview of Nov. 26 Council Meeting

Past event
Nov 26, 2018, 7:30 to 9 PM

Dear Neighbors,

This Monday, the City Council will convene its second of two meetings for the month of November.
Prior to our Council meeting, at 4:30 to 6:30pm, we will have a work session on three proposed changes to the City Charter. These include changes to:
• Permit reform
• the Business Personal Property Tax
• the Downtown Improvement Project

The City Council meeting will begin at 7:30.

On our deliberative agenda are the following items:

• A presentation on Accessory Dwelling Units.
These units are currently permitted on single family properties. They require the owner to live on-site and
have other specifications according to our zoning ordinances. These units often allow a property owner to
continue to live in their home, build a unit for a family member, caregiver, or tenant, for example.

• A presentation and discussion on the Resident Parking Management Plan.
In May, the Council approved a resolution asking DPW for an update on the status of the strategies
recommended in the 2016 Residential Parking Study. The report discusses proposed administrative
adjustments, including the implementation of a $10 fee for parking permits. Here is the link to the report:

Please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come to a Council meeting and speak on any topic you wish during public forum. This begins at a time certain of 7:30pm at every Council meeting. Please go to youtube and type in "Burlington City Council meetings" and the live stream will come up.

As always, I welcome your questions and concerns. I hope you have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

My best,
Karen
