For many, the holidays are a time for family and warmth, grace and gratitude. For some, though, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be a season of isolation and emotional pain. So we choose to extend our hours of Service on these two holidays. Our doors will be open 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow on Thanksgiving Day.
Martha's is located at 86 North Main St. St Albans. We are supported by 16 area churches, several businesses and many families and individuals. The majority of our staff are community volunteers and our mission is based
on the Gospel of Luke 10:38 - 40:
"Now as they went on their way, He entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the His feet and listened to what he was saying."
We receive so many inquiries about volunteering on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day! Please remember we are open daily, and we do seek volunteers throughout the year. There are many ways to get involved and we encourage you to visit our website and complete an application to set up an interview.
Be assured that on this day and every day we give thanks for all the support and encouragement we receive from our community. Thank you for helping us with mission of; "Restoring dignity to hungry individuals and families by providing nourishment and companionship in a safe, warm and caring environment."
Yes, a second item on our list of Gratitude this year: We will be moving to our new home at 139 Lake St. in December! Date to be announced soon!
Abundant blessings of Peace and all good ~!
