Free Cider & Donuts at ARCC Friday

November 15 is America Recycles Day - a time when people like us at the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District make an extra effort to get out the word about how to recyle and compost effectively ... we also celebrate the great work people in our communities are doing around waste reduction efforts! This year, we'll be celebrating America Recycles Day one day late, on Friday, November 16, at the CVSWMD Additional Recyclables Collection Center (ARCC) at 540 North Main Street in Barre (old Times Argus building, around back behind the Dollar General), by offering free hot cider & donuts from noon - 5 pm. Use this as an excuse to visit the ARCC if you haven't yet, or bring us your most recent load of recyclables. In order to keep this a zero waste event, we will not be offering disposable cups or napkins, so bring your own cup, or use one of our reusable cups or napkins and enjoy your treat on site - we'll wash the dishes when you're done!

The ARCC is an ADDITIONAL recycling facility, which means we do NOT take "normal" recyclables that usually go in your blue bin. We DO take hard to recycle materials like paint, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, wine bottle corks, oral care products like used toothbrushes and empty tooth paste tubes, electronics, and the list goes on to about 40 hard to recycle products.

Check out our website for our hours, fees, and a list of what we can recylce -- http://www.cvswmd.org/arcc.html
And join us for some locally made Cold Hollow cider donuts (plus a few from Dunkin' Donuts just to round things out) tomorrow! Questions? Call the ARCC at 802-476-1900
