Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 2018

Thank you Kim for sharing the event of the year! The 2018 Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot begins at 8:30am.. Please come and join your neighbors for a pleasant 3 mile trot. This is our 8th year trotting together!

The Course: Chatter and trotting begin at Rumney Memorial Elementary School. The trot takes us down Shady Rill to the bottom of Government Hill. As we slowly turn onto Government Hill, laughter and dread seep in. We trot, we walk, we talk, we run, we stop, we take a breath, we encourage each other to continue moving up the biggest hill in Middlesex. We are thankful and giddy as we reach the top and turn the corner onto French Road. At the end of French Road we turn right onto Shady Rill. We think about how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place and to enjoy Thanksgiving morning with our neighbors. As every trotter saunters to the finish line, there's only cheering. We are all winners; however, the one who comes in first receives the annual Turkey hat and a homemade Mashkuri berry pie.
This tradition is free and open to all ages and friendly dogs. Hope to see you on November 22, at 8:30am - rain, shine, sleet, snow, even in blizzard conditions - we will be there!
