The Center for an Agricultural Economy in Hardwick will be hosting a free permaculture workshop at Atkins Field, 100 Granite St., on November 28 (the next day if the weather is bad). Nicko Rubin of East Hill Tree Farm will lead the workshop from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The workshop will focus on pruning and winter care of the Atkins Field Edible Forest -- fruit trees, berries and perennials. Participants will help do winter care for the orchard. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided. To save a spot please e-mail Community Programs Manager Bethany M.
