All are welcome to this event, it is free and educational.
Location: Macrae Farm Park, at the end of Macrae Farm Road in Colchester
Meet in the parking lot by the information board at 8:30AM
We will walk around the park to document all the birds we see and hear for eBird.org and citizen science. This walk is put on by the Winooski Valley Park District and the Green Mountain Club and will be run by environmental educator, Juli Tyson. We have binoculars and field guides to borrow and we encourage everyone to come if they are interested to learn something new or share some knowledge with the group! The walk is easy and flat, and prepare for Vermont weather. Saturday looks chilly and possibly snowy, so remember a winter coat, boots, and gloves!
Last time I walked Macrae Farm Park I saw rare Rusty Blackbirds, the Great Blue heron, and 300+ Red-winged Black birds. Plus there was a beaver and some turtles still around the river!
Hope to see you there!
