Hi there Ward 7 neighbors,

I wanted to let you know that the BSD is starting discussions on solutions to Early Education/preK education & classrooms in our community. As you may recall last Spring, two brand new buildings were on the table, one on the South end (behind Champlain elementary) and one on our end, at the CP Smith elementary campus. At the June School Board meeting, the board put a halt on immediate construction of these buildings. At this point in time, no new plan has been devised, but the School Board has created a "pre-K Engagement Task Force", assigned with coming up with a viable solution in our community.

The first community wide meeting is scheduled for this week, on Wednesday, November 14th, starting at 6pm at the Ira Allen building, 150 Colchester Ave. in Burlington. Now is the time to get engaged and help mold the direction that our district will be going in terms of early education. If you are interested in participating in an Early Education/ Pre-K Task Force formation meeting along with our staff and community partners, please join us!
