Residents of the Addison Central School District are invited to one of the two remaining community dialogues discussing the ACSD Facilities Master Plan. The dialogues take places on Tuesday, Nov. 13, and Wed. Nov. 14, both at 6:30 at Middlebury Union Middle School on Middle Road.
The purpose of the dialogues is to bring community voices into the conversation of how best to align the school district's schools and other facilities with its education goals and enrollment realities. Like schools across Vermont, enrollment in ACSD schools has trended downward over the past two decades. As the board wrestles with these new realities, it is asking questions such as how to ensure equitable distribution of resources across the district, how to provide the best learning environment for all students, and how to maintain reasonable tax rates.
Input gathered at the dialogues will be used by the board to develop a long-range plan to best meet these goals.
Each meeting will begin with a presentation of information concerning enrollment and other trends before small group discussions.
