Where Have All the Women Gone? #Womenintech GBWF Lunch

Past event
Nov 15, 2018, 12 to 1:30 PM

In Vermont, only 14% of computer science program college graduates identify as female. In 2017, only 26% of all professional computing occupations were held by women. What's going on here?Employers want to diversify & recruit more women; tech jobs provide benefits & flexibility, a proven advantage to working women in a rural state like Vermont.

Dive into the conversation as Greater Burlington Women's Forum celebrates its 5th Anniversary series of brown bag lunches at Contois Auditorium in Burlington City Hall, November 15th at noon. The program features a panel of local women working in computer fields who will tell their stories. How did they get there? What obstacles did they have to face and overcome? Learn about what it means to be a woman in tech and what it takes to get there.

There is always plenty of time reserved for connecting and networking with women in the community. Tickets are FREE - donations are welcomed. More info and registration links at btvwomen.org or on Facebook @btvwomen. Hope to see you there!
