The Mount Abe High/Middle School music department has undertaken a variety of fundraisers to help lower the cost of this year's April trip to New York City, where kids in chorus and/or band will compete musically and also attend a Broadway musical show, among other activities.
This Thursday, November 8th, from 3-6pm, students and parent volunteers will be doing a pie-making project in the Mount Abe cafeteria kitchen. We are looking for some excellent, experienced pie makers to lead the charge! We will have lots of (clean!) helping hands, but we need one or more bakers with a reputation for making great pies, (particularly in terms of making and working pie dough), to guide us. If you consider yourself or are considered by others to make a mean pie (gluten-free pie-makers included!), and you can commit to helping this Thurs, 3-6pm, please let me know (spachman@smcvt.edu) as soon as possible and I will communicate it to the project organizers.
The pies will be frozen and available for order, as well as sold to show-goers at the Mt Abe musical, Newsies, on Nov 15-17. It promises to be a great show, and tickets are still available at Martin's Hardware in Bristol.
Thank you for your community support!
