The Porter Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals is putting on a benefit for our community at the VFW in Middlebury on November 9, 6-10 PM. We are trying to raise money and awareness to address the high cost of medications and healthy food for patients in our Porter community. Our event is entitled "Dancing with the Nurses", and will feature a live band, the Tricksters, with a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, and lots of terrific raffle prizes. Admission (including one raffle ticket) is $10 for adults, free for kids 12 and younger. Extra raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each All proceeds from the event will go to benefit H.O.P.E., Helping Overcome Poverty's Effects in Middlebury, to assist low income Addison County residents in obtaining healthy food, medications and other medically related needs.
These services include nutritious food from their food shelf, fresh local produce, cooking classes and food preparation tips. H.O.P.E. also provides grants to assist residents with their urgent medical and dental needs.
We hope all nurses, providers, caregivers and residents of Addison County providers will to join us in supporting this event for our patients, by attendance and/or a financial contribution. Please send checks made out directly to H.O.P.E., with Dancing with the Nurses in the memo section. Mail to HOPE 282 Boardman Street, Middlebury, VT 05753
