As part of the local downsizing efforts, a group of local households has formed the Silver Maple Community with the goal of building two small planned communities, one intergenerational and the other for over-55 residents. Homes will be small, and the communities will be designed, as "pocket neighborhoods" with a central green as well as open space. The goal of the Silver Maple Community is to avoid having to go to a nursing home, to live in community among friend and not to be a burden to our kids. Perhaps this could work for you?

There will be an informational meeting for those interested in this initiative, whether for yourselves, your family members or your friends in or outside of Montpelier, on Thursday, Nov 15, 6:30-8 at MSAC (Senior Center), 58 Barre St, Montpelier.
