Gather up your Broken, Ripped, Wobbly, Squeaky, Dull, Unworkable and otherwise UnHappy Items….
our fall Repair Cafe is happening on Sat Nov 17 from 10:00 to 2:00 at the Charlotte Congregational Church!
The event is open to Charlotters, Hinesburgers, Shelburners, N. Ferrisburghers, Monktonians and well, anyone reading this announcement! If you believe that items should be fixed and not thrown away, this is for you!
We have (or hope to have soon) fixers willing to repair clothing, holey knits, curtains, small electric appliances, small office equipment, clocks, DVDs and CD players, furniture, toys, dolls, bicycles, small engine tuneups, lamps, sharpen tools, watch bands, watch battery replacement, jewelry repair. And we even have someone willing to tutor you with your smart phone!
Sooo, whats the charge?… Nothing! We just ask you to bring a non-perishable food or monetary donation to the Charlotte Food Shelf if you are able.
All participants need to pre-register (name, email, items you are bringing) so the repairers know what to expect. Register here… https://goo.gl/forms/EuRHkqHy0YnmfRRf2
And there will be yummy stuff present... partake in coffee, cider, homemade baked goods, and hot soup while watching the repairers fix your stuff!
The event is being sponsored by Transition Town Charlotte, the Charlotte Library, the Charlotte Grange, and the Charlotte Congregational Church.
Don't forget to register above. Questions? just email me. Lastly, we still are looking for additional fixers...do you have a repair skill you would like to share to help your neighbors? If so please email me and join the Fixers! Cheers! Jamey
