The Calais Board of Abatement will meet on Monday, March 10, at 6 p.m. to hear a request for abatement of 2013 property taxes from Paul Rose and Virginia Kern for their property on Pekin Brook Road. A Board of Abatement meeting is a quasi-judicial proceeding that falls under the open meeting law. However, members of the public may only observe. The Board may only hear from the taxpayer, a lister or someone else from town government, or anyone called by the Board as a witness to provide information. The meeting will be held at the town office.
