Nov 14, 2018, 9 to 10 AM

On November 14, 2018, The community will be treated to a storytelling presentation from Vermont author Doug Wilhelm. Wilhelm, is the author of 14 books for middle-grade readers, including The Revealers and nine books in the Choose Your Own Adventure series. This special event is made possible through a 2018-2019 Children's Literacy Foundation Rural Libraries grant won by the John G. McCullough Free Library.

CLiF is an independent nonprofit organization founded in 1998. Its mission is to nurture a love of reading and writing among low income, at-risk, and rural children in New Hampshire and Vermont. CLiF has inspired more than 225,000 young readers and writers through literacy program grants and has given away nearly $6 million in new high-quality children's books. For more information, visit www.clifonline.org.

This grant encourages libraries in New Hampshire and Vermont towns of 5,000 residents or fewer to partner with schools and childcare centers to encourage a community wide commitment to literacy. The Village School of North Bennington library will receive $500 worth of new books and Youth Services Librarian Nicole Hall was able to select $2,000 worth of new materials to be added to the John G. McCullough Free Library's children's collection.

Thank you to CLiF and its donors for making this possible.
