Wood Turtle Conservation: Presentation and Movie Screening
Wood Turtles are a rare and very secretive species that lives near streams here in the Northeast Kingdom, and their populations are in sharp decline. Thankfully there are conservation programs geared towards helping people manage their lands to restore Wood Turtle habitat, helping other wildlife, improving water quality, and promoting agricultural sustainability in the process.
Join the Orianne Society and Sterling College on Nov. 5 at 6:30 pm in Simpson Hall to learn more about Wood Turtles, a research program taking place in Eastern Vermont focused on the species, and what we can do to help save them. The presentation will be followed by a screening of The Great Northern Turtle, an 18-minute mini-documentary, and a brief meet-and-greet with a live Wood Turtle!
