Please join us for this very special screening of A Place at the Table, to learn more about food security issues - and solutions - that affect all of us. The film will be shown at the St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church in Hardwick (39 W Church St - where the food pantry is also located) and will start promptly at 6:30pm. An expert panel discussion will take place following the film.
50 Million Americans—1 in 4 children—don't know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, A Place at the Table shows how the issue could be solved forever, once the American public decides—as they have in the past—that ending hunger is in the best interests of us all.
Presented by WonderArts VT, Let's Talk Film is a documentary series bringing community members together to talk about socially relevant themes. A panel discussion will follow the film featuring representatives from Green Mountain Farm to School, Salvation Farms, the Hardwick Area Food Pantry, Hunger Free Vermont, the Center for Agriculture Economy and a local state legislator. Supported by funds from the Bissell Foundation.
