Burlington, Wednesday February 26 - Miller Center - 130 Gosse Court. ward 4 and ward 7 will host a joint forum for the 2014 - 2015 Candidates for two open City Council seats and two challenged School Board Commissioner seats.. Out going Paul Decelles and Bryan Aubin will be acknowledged for their years of service on the City Council.

The Ward Clerk seats for both wards are open with no candidate. Jim Holway would like ward 4 write-in votes. The seat for ward 4 Inspector of Elections has one candidate, Kevin P. Scully. The same seat in ward 7 has no candidate.

An hour long informal "early drop-in" mixer begins at 6:00 pm ahead of the two hour program starting at 7:00 pm The NPA sponsored Annual Candidate Night for Northern Burlington candidates will have the hopefuls answer questions put to them by the New North End community

Ward 4 covers most of the west side of North Avenue bordering Lake Champlain. The City Council candidates in alphabetic order - Carol Ode, Loyal Ploof and Kurt Wright for the wards seat left open by outgoing Bryan Aubin.

Ward 7 covers most of the east side of North Avenue with a small portion of the lake side of the avenue at both the north most and south most ends. Ward 7's long time City Councilor Paul Deselles will be leaving the seat open to newcomers Bianka Legrand and Tom Treat.

Incumbent School Board Commissioners Bernie O'Rourke of ward 4 and Linda Deliduka of ward 7 face challengers Scot Shumski and David Kirk respectively.

There are 8 ballot items and they were the focus in the January Annual Ballot Issues forum. This months meeting will include a period of time with Miro Weinberger who will talk about the ballot items his administration are most strongly.behind. The Mayor will entertain the community question.

Most attendees of last months Candidate Night had the opportunity for in depth ballot item conversations from the New North End elected officials. In order to give a broader view of how the candidate will serve if elected, Thus non-ballot questions from the audience will be encouraged

All candidates are encouraged to invite supporters for mix & mingle.between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Limited campaign materials may be available from Candidates.

Light treats and non-alcoholic drink donations for the Mixer are both welcome and encouraged.

Ward 4 voter who will not have not voted by Absentee Ballot will vote at St. Mark's Youth Center at 1271 North Ave. Ward 7 residents shall vote at the Miller Center at 130 Gosse Court.. More Election information can be found online http://www.burlingtonvt.gov/CT/Elections/
