Shawn Woods of the Stowe at Night Lantern Tours will speak Wednesday, October 31, at the Lamoille OLLI Lecture Series at the Commodores Inn on RT 100 in Stowe. The talk begins at 1:30 pm. There is a $5.00 fee for the lecture.
The title of the talk is "Is Stowe Vermont Really Haunted?"
Story teller Shawn Woods spins tales of the resident ghosts of Stowe. Are these strange "ghostly" occurrences encountered by residents and tourists merely things we don't understand or does Stowe really have ghosts? Bring your best ghost story to share as we have a lively discussion of what is really out there. After all it is Halloween!
Shawn is the creator and owner of Stowe At Night Lantern Tours. Started in 2000, this tour is a combination of the unique history of Stowe and ghost stories. Shawn has spent his entire career in education as a history teacher, athletic administrator and coach. Presently, besides leading his tours, he is head coach of cross country running and track and field at Northern Vermont University, Johnson.
Refreshments will immediately follow the presentations. Interested persons can join Shawn at the conclusion of the lecture and desserts for a "field trip" to Emily's haunted bridge. Lecture participants are asked to drive their own cars.
