Come celebrate Autumn in VT! The Great Northern is hosting their first Apple Pie Contest this Sunday! Contestant entries are full, but we encourage our greater community members to join in the celebration. Doors open to the public at 3:30 pm and The Great Northern will be offering Beer, Wine, Cider and a specialty cocktail, as well as an amazing bar menu for food including a vegetarian and meat tourtière pies for sale.

The best part of the event is that we have turned it into a fundraiser for the Chittenden County Food Shelf. We will have food donation boxes for anyone to bring in non-perishable food items, which we will continue to accept until The week of Thanksgiving! In addition we will be donating a portion of all sales that evening to the Food Shelf. And the public can support the Food Shelf by purchasing a piece of the contestants pie for $5/per slice, and we will donate 100% of the proceeds of the pie pieces to the Food Shelf! It's going to be fantastic.
