Mary Lou Willits, Pawlet Public Library Director, announces a motor coach tour to King Arthur Flour on Saturday, November 3, crowning the fall events presented by the Library in conjunction with Vermont Humanities Council's Vermont Reads 2018 programs featuring the book "Bread and Roses, Too" by Vermont author Katherine Paterson. The first passenger pick up is at Poultney Young at Heart Senior Center at 8:30 a.m., and second pick up is at Pawlet Public Library at 9:00 a.m. The motor coach returns to Pawlet at 5:00 p.m. and to Poultney at 5:30 p.m. Advanced registration with $55 payment to Pawlet Public Library is required by Thursday, November 1.
Copies of the book will be available to read on the motor coach, and in route will be a showing of Collective Voices, a 21-minute documentary about the famous 1912 Lawrence textile strike on which the book is based. At King Arthur Flour the group will participate in a tour and demo, shopping, and lunch on your own at King Arthur's café or bakery.
