From Montpelier, to Burlington, Middlebury, Hardwick and Hartford, the 40 Days of Fire Campaign is bringing education and empowerment to the state of Vermont. We're teaching folks how to address race bating and dog-whistle politics and shedding light on the tragic history of white colonialism in the United States. We also continue to inform people about the conditions created by overt and systemic racism in Vermont, unprecedented legislation recently passed to address it and how everyone can become involved to ensure that in implementation the legislation accomplishes its desired intent.

This is the first of a series of regional meetings that will bring us all together to discuss what we have learned and make plans for collective actions that will ensure sustainable change. At The Gathering we will collectively determine the tools, strategies and time lines that will enable us to resist overt and systemic racism and ensure fairness, safety and prosperity for all black and brown folks in Vermont. We look forward to hearing updates from our friends and partners that we are meeting across the state.
