Interactive Forum on Preserving Vermont's Gun Rights, October 25, in Pawlet, VT

The present and future impact of gun laws in the state of Vermont will be discussed during an interactive forum at the Pawlet Fire House, 155 VT Route 133 in Pawlet, Vermont, on October 25, 2018 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

Edward Larson, Rutland City Alderman, will moderate the forum. Larson, an expert in public safety, respects the 2nd amendment and defends all Vermont and Federal constitutional rights.

Panel members include: Vermont Representative Bob Helm, who will provide insights into how the legislature pushed the 2018 gun bills into law. Helm is renowned for his house floor speeches on traditional Vermont values and the destruction of our freedoms; Evan Hughes, Registered Lobbyist, and Vice President of NRA Foundation Projects for the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs (Vermont's NRA State Association); Lt. Col. Terry Williams, a retired US Army veteran, and Southern Vermont Vice President of the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs; Ed Cutler, President of Gun Owners of Vermont, which is a "non-partisan pro-gun organization committed to a no compromise position on firearms ownership rights".

Rounding out the forum are two legal experts. Janssen Willhoit, Esq. VT House, VT Supreme Court Bar ,VT Federal District Court, will share his perspective of the language, constitutional legality and enforceability of the 2018 gun laws. Local attorney, Sabina Smiechowski, Esquire, of Poultney, the only female on the panel, is in the unique position of representing a gender viewpoint on the new gun control laws as well as addressing the practicality of defending clients who have broken them.
