Celebration of Church Life and Leadership
The Onion River Jazz Band and Dr. Francois Clemmons, Vocalist will be featured performers at the Brandon Congregational Church Celebration of Church Life and Leadership on Sunday, October 21 at 4:00 p.m. We will celebrate the leadership of the Reverend William L. Bartholomew, Pastor. Gospels, Spirituals, Dixieland Jazz along with the Brandon Congregational Church Choir, all under the direction of Mr. Gene Childers.
The Onion River Jazz Band is a seven piece traditional Dixieland Band base in Burlington. For over 30 years, the Onion River Jazz Band has been presenting traditional New Orleans Dixieland Jazz which represents the roots and origin or jazz in America. This band was formed in 1984 when a group of musicians played for a jazz worship service at the First Congregational Church in Burlington as part of the Discover Jazz Festival. Featured are Andy Miskavage, clarinet, Gene Childers, trumpet, Bill Brislin, trombone, Paul Gittelsohn, banjo, Chuck Miller, piano, Glendon Ingalls, tuba and Tony Hall, drums.
