Restorative Community Justice of Southern VT (RCJSV) provides free monthly trainings in restorative practices, methods of restorative justice, and nonviolent conflict resolution. This month we will feature an Introduction to Nonviolent Communication, presented by one of our board members, Laurie Rabut.
This training will provide an introduction to the concepts and principles of NVC. Participants will learn about:
- noticing and working with judgement and fear around conflict,
- introducing curiosity and the letting go of expectations,
- understanding feelings and needs,
- developing and expressing empathy for self and others.
We will discuss how these principles and practices can be applied to situations of conflict and how they can be used in restorative circles as per the work of Dominic Barter in Brazil. We will have opportunities to practice these skills with each other in Dyads and Triads.
The training is open to newcomers and experienced practitioners alike, and will take place at the Old Schoolhouse in South Newfane. Please RSVP by sending an email to rcjsvt@gmail.com.
