This is an outing led by one of the participants of the South Burlington Master Naturalist program; all are welcome.

I would like to lead a walk at the Muddy Brook Wetland Reserve on Sunday October 21st from 9 am until 12 noon.
The reserve is located at 300 Van Sicklen Road in South Burlington.

On that morning we will discuss the history of the reserve - a land swap with the Burlington Airport to mitigate development of wetlands for the Airport. We will learn about what makes a wetland a wetland; the many different types of wetlands; plant and animal adaptations to the particular challenges of living in wetlands; the history of wetland loss and federal and state laws and programs to conserve and restore wetlands.

Parking at the reserve is limited so carpooling is encouraged.
