Living Sustainably - Community Conversation

Past event
Oct 26, 2018, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

The St. Johnsbury Shambhala Center is hosting an open conversation to explore how our community can make strides in living sustainably. What possibilities do you see? The goal of this evening is to join our minds and hearts in the spirit of moving forward in a positive direction. Light refreshments will be served. The Center is located at 17 Eastern Avenue in St. Johnsbury, above the Star Theatre. All are welcome to:

- begin a difficult conversation TOGETHER, as a community
- explore both our ambivalence and our deep caring, without judgement or criticism
- exchange practical advice on how each of us CAN make a difference
- be inspired by what's being done by so many on behalf of the planet
- motivate and support one another
- create alliances without focusing on faith or politics
- communicate the dire situation of climate change, but with a view of empowerment
- see small steps taken by many as having an exponential impact
- ask, How do we connect our values with our actions?
- find the kind of actions that we can sustain---looking for things that work and that we can actually do!
- recognize and build on our interdependent relationship with Nature

We hope you'll add your voice to the discussion.
