The Vermont Philharmonic under the direction of Lou Kosma opens its 60th Season with the Annual Opera Gala Concert. The first performance is this Saturday, October 20th, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at the Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe and on Sunday, October 21st, 2018, 2:00 pm at the Barre Opera House. The program features the 2018 winners of the Bell Canto Institute performance winners - Sofie Lund-Tonneson (soprano), Johanna Nylund (soprano) and Danielle Alexis Smith (mezzo soprano) performing operatic selections with orchestra accompaniment. The Philharmonic will be featured alone playing Wagner's "Overture to Rienzi" and Leoncavallo's "Intermezzo from Pagliacci" Tickets are $20 adults,$15 seniors and $5 students and are available at the door or online. This concert is always an audience favorite.
