From Lt Gov Zuckerberg:
Please join me on Thursday, October 25 for a special showing of The Devil We know in Bennington.
Doors open at 6:30PM for mingling and movie will begin at 7:00PM at the Bennington Fire Facility, 3rd floor Meeting Room, 130 River Street, Bennington.
This is the final movie in my 2018 Lt. Governor Movie Series and the only movie we are showing for the second time.
We were able to host a special advance screening of this movie in Burlington in June. As soon as I saw it I knew we needed to show it again in your community. This movie is the story of the PFOA cover-up. It follows a group of citizens in West Virginia as they take on a powerful corporation after they discover it has knowlngly been dumping a toxic chemical (PFOA) - now found in the blood of 99.7% of Americans - into the drinking water supply. As a community that has suffered from PFOA in the water, I hope you find inspiration from those who are fighting with you from another state. I also hope this can keep the momentum building for continued water clean-up and work to ensure we pass, and have signed into law, a bill regulating toxic substances and hazardous materials.
Following the movie, I will moderate a panel discussion about the movie and PFOA. Information will be shared by respresentatives from the Toxic Action Center about the national efforts to address water contamination. Questions and comments from the audience are most welcome.
