Preview of Oct. 15 Council Meeting

Past event
Oct 15, 2018, 7 to 10 PM

Dear Neighbors,

This Monday, the City Council will convene its first of two meetings for the month of October.

Our evening will begin with a work session on the Downtown Improvement District beginning at 5:45. The Council meeting will begin immediately after the work session.

We have six items on our deliberative agenda. The first is a communication from the Mayor regarding the appointment of Darren Springer to be the new General Manager of Burlington Electric.

The second item on our agenda is a resolution regarding the actions in response to the recommendations to the Council by the "Everyone Loves a Parade" Mural Task Force. Essentially, the resolution will request a report by January 7, 2019 to include, among other points, a review of BCA current fundraising to fund the replacement mural and possible sites to locate the current mural set to be relocated by August 29, 2022.

The third item is a resolution regarding restoring the reuse zones at the Chittenden Solid Waste District Drop-off Centers. These zones are well used and provide a valuable community service.

We will then have a communication regarding changes to our Council rules. The next item is proposed changes to our ordinance to correct minor inconsistencies in the language regarding housing certificate suspensions ad revocations.

Our last item is an update from the City Attorney on the Burlington Telecom Regulatory Process.

Please keep in mind that you are always welcome to come to a Council meeting and speak on any topic you wish during public forum. This begins at a time certain of 7:30 at every Council meeting. You may access the Council agenda at http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public Please note that all Council meetings are televised live on BT Channel 317 and streamed live to your computer or phone. My best,
Karen
