The Windham Regional Woodlands Association will present two Autumn programs

Fermenting and Bottling Hard Cider

A slide show and talk by Alan Robertson, Tree Farmer and cider enthusiast from Sheffield VT.
He will explain how to brew your own hard cider, from the selection of apple varieties to bottling and enjoying. We will have samples from Al's "famous" hard cider cellar.

Sustainability through the Centuries. Forest Management in
Germany and the Black Forest:

Alan Robertson will present a slide show and discuss his time stationed in Germany and a recent trip back there with the American Forest Foundation. They looked at a variety of forest management styles and methods. After centuries of management, the science and philosophy are both still evolving and the desire for sustainable "forever forests" (dauerwald) and natural regeneration is increasing.
DIRECTIONS
Both programs will be held at The Winston Prouty Center,130 Austine Drive, Brattleboro, on the fourth floor of Holton Hall, (the large brick building).
It is located off Maple St. between Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and Living Memorial Park.
From Canal St: Follow Maple St. west .6 miles, take a left on Austine Dr. (through the stone gates and up the hill)
From Route 9, turn towards Living Memorial Park, take Guilford St. .4 miles.
Take a left on to Maple St. and travel for .5 miles. Austine Drive will be on the right. Follow Austine Dr. up the hill, Holton Hall will be on the left.
Parking in front of building or in lot just to the south.
