Come participate in how we citizens can solve the problem of our dysfunctional federal political system. How? By taking practical steps to amend our U.S.Constitution and statutes to give our elected representatives proper incentive to put the broad public interests of the citizens first instead of what is happening presently. Vermont's former Governor Phil Hoff has said this is "/the paramount issue of our time, for it goes to the very core of our democracy and representation."/
The second presentation on this topic will be at the Carpenter-Carse library in Hinesburg, Saturday, October 13, 10:00 a.m. - noon. Part I outlined problems with the structure and financing of our political system that combine to result in improper representation of broad citizen interests by Congress. Led by Rick Hubbard, a retired Vermont Attorney and recent author of /The Democracy Amendments/, Part II discusses in an interactive presentation the features that effective reform must include.
Thank you,
Karl
