Election Day is four weeks away but your Monthly Town Meeting Day, the Ward 1, Ward 8 NPA Meeting, offers an opportunity to hear about some candidates and issues on the Nov 6th ballot. We'll be in the McClure Lobby Conference Room at UVM Medical Center and your agenda looks like this:
7.00 p.m.: Welcome and Introductions
7.05: Speak Out
7.15: City Council update
7.30: State Representatives Barbara Rachelson (Chitt 6:6), Selene Colburn (Chitt 6:4) and Brian Cina (Chitt 6:4) seek re-election. They are invited to make brief opening statements and engage in a short Q&A.
8.00: Burlington High School: $70M Bond ballot item. Martine Gulick, School Commissioner for Ward 4, will present the rationale behind "Reinvisioning BHS" and the resultant ballot item for the reinvention of the BHS campus.
8.30: DPW City Wastewater & Stormwater Infrastructure: Megan Moir, Asst Dir for Water Resources, Director Chapin Spencer and Mayor Miro Weinberger will advocate for the Election Day ballot item regarding the "Clean Water Resiliency Plan" bond and answer our questions.
