Join Yestermorrow Design/Build School and Beth Haggart, certified green roof professional, to learn about the history, design, and construction of living roofs. Green and living roofs filter pollutants out of rainwater and slow runoff; reduce energy costs by providing natural insulation and cooling; and create natural habitats that attract pollinators and birds.
Beginning with a brief visual history of living roofs around the world, Beth will show images of contemporary, small-scale green roofing on homes, porches, garages, chicken coops, and sheds. Many of the examples to be shown are built and designed by their owners.
