Discussion of Artificial Intelligence, Part 2, on 0ct 9
Our second Food for Thought potluck and discussion, open to all, will focus on Artificial Intelligence: The Potential Benefits and Challenges. Our speaker and discussion leader for this session, UVM Asst. Professor Nick Cheney, who specializes in machine learning for artificial neural networks, will bring us deep into the practical and ethical impacts of AI on our lives. Will robotic technology free humans from labor they would prefer to avoid and let them pursue more creative outlets? What does this mean in relation to employment, healthcare, warfare, space exploration, and other parts of our lives? Are the benefits mainly for those who can afford them?
This event is sponsored by Mr. Mansfield Union High School and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Jericho. It is a free event. Bring a dish and join us at 6:30 pm October 9th at the MMU Library for food, fun, and learning!
