Northeast Kingdom Youth Services (NEKYS) are finalizing plans for their 15th Annual Walk for Homeless Youth and Young Adults on October 13th, 2018.
NEKYS is looking for interested organizations, business and individuals to form teams for the WALK.
NEKYS Programs address the complex needs of homeless young adults in our area. Through our programs, homeless young adults receive support services to acquire safe and stable housing, complete education, find employment and enhance physical and emotional well-being.
For more information about the walk or on how to form a team, visit us at 24 Bagley Street, St. Johnsbury (the plum colored building across from Horizon's Deli on Railroad Street) or call us at 748-8732.
The Walk is a three-mile starting at the United Community Church on 1325 Main Street, St. Johnsbury and winds its way through town and then back to the United Community Church for the barbecue and festivities. There is a breakfast buffet with registration, free lunch, prizes, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day. The Walk is to benefit NEKYS and the homeless youth and young adults they serve.
Pre-registration is highly encouraged. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the WALK kicks off promptly at 10:00 am.
