What do you get when you hook up a very old tractor with a pulley to a belt that is on another pulley on a thresher, or chopper, or hay press? You get to see how pulleys, belts, gears, shafts and many other uniquely fashioned pieces can all work together to make life easier for the farmers in Addison County during the early 20th century.
Join us for a weekend of demonstrations which will include chopping, shucking, milling corn; threshing grain, sawing and planing lumber, and pressing straw into bales. It is amazing to watch the moving parts of these old-time farm equipment. These implements were designed and built by farmers and then they shared the idea with other farmers who thought of other things that would improve on the original.
Food available for purchase from Shoreham Congo Church, ice cream being churned by the Norris family. Many tractors will be on display and used in the tractor games (always fun to watch).
Come and have a great day during this weekend of nostalgia. Weather forecast is looking great. Farmall Hill Days takes place at 695 Dolittle Road in Shoreham VT. For more info call 897-2075.
