Acclaimed Cellist Matt Haimovitz will offer concertgoers a unique, immersive, two-day classical music experience on Saturday, October 6, and Sunday, October 7, when he brings his program called "A Moveable Feast" to Randolph, redefining what it means to be an artist in the 21st century. This Feast features his impassioned performances of all six of Bach's esteemed Suites for Unaccompanied Cello, together with six overtures to the suites that Haimovitz commissioned from several of the world's most acclaimed contemporary composers.
Two free pop-up performances will be on Saturday - at Kimball Public Library at noon and then at the new Randolph Village Firehouse at 3:00. Saturday evening Chandler is holding a fundraising "Salon" with sweets and a wine tasting during which Matt will play a third Bach Suite and accompanying contemporary overture. Then on Sunday at 3:00, he will perform a recital in Chandler's main hall, featuring the three remaining Bach suites, each paired with a commissioned overture. Call the box office for a space at the "Salon" (suggested $50 donation) or to order tickets for the Sunday matinée.
