Exploring the Fusion of History and Contemporary Art
Artist, writer and curator Ric Kasini Kadour will speak on Sunday, September 30, at the Rokeby Museum in Ferrisburgh, asking "Is art the new mode of [historical] interpretation and are artists the new interpreters?" This illustrated lecture will include examples ranging from the Palace of Versailles to Vermont's own Kent Museum in Calais, and after his talk, Ric will open the floor for a lively discussion. Also a chance to see THE FABRIC OF EMANCIPATION, contemporary fabric constructions curated by Harlem Needle Arts, before the special exhibit closes October 28.
