Town Planning Commission

Greetings,

Essex Town Planning Commission (Outside the Village) has a meeting Thursday, Sept. 27th @ 6:30 p.m.

Once again we will be discussing amendments to the Zoning Regulations pertaining to the ETC|Next planning process. Meaning the properties that would be affected by a change to the Zoning Regulations are the streets within the Town Center. Remember, the ETC|Next process is an update to the 1991 Town Center Master Plan.

We will continue to schedule continued discussions every 4th Thursday of every month on this topic. These discussions will lead to proposed regulations. Don't like what you see being constructed? Join in the discussions now as once construction has started you voice will be too late. Remember, the vision of the Town is YOUR vision. If you don't come out, then the wonderful volunteers that make-up the Planning Commission is left with no choice but to use its own judgment.

Other Business:

The Post Office on Essex Way will be temporarily using the vacant lot across the road for its employees to park while it does improvements to its lot. This should take 2-3 weeks.

The Planning & Zoning Department at 81 Main Street is in the process of interviewing a part-time Admin Assistant. The position was reduced from full-time. Time will tell if it needs to return to full-time. For now, please be patient with us as we get re-adjusted. We will continue to strive to give you the customer service you are accustomed to!

The new parking lot off Thompson Drive is open and ready for public use. The port-o-let has been transferred to this area as well. Please plan to utilize this parking lot as Saxon Hill parking has been greatly reduced - and has a fire lane. Cars will be ticketed and/or towed. Thank you for your cooperation!

Happy Fall!
