Greetings neighbors!
A small group of people have met a couple times to discuss what, in addition to the Take It or Leave It Farm Stand, could be done to promote neighbor helping neighbor. The whole thing started from the Feed My Sheep, Grow With God ministry of the church, which fostered the Farm Stand, which was wildly successful due to neighbor's participation by sharing their harvest. It was decided that for now, this small group would be called Neighbor to Neighbor as the group consists of community members, not just church members. While it all began at church, it has, as it should, moved beyond to include more community members, all with the goal of helping one another. Cooperative growth!
The next event is meant to bring folks together for fun, food, and fellowship. Any extra food at the end of the day will be distributed to someone who will appreciate it.

If you have a cider press you would like to bring, and wish to participate - Great!
What can you expect? Well, ya never know! But, the plan is as follows:
Each participant will be able to learn by participating how to make Cider, Applesauce, and Apple pie. You will be able to take home, in a container or in your belly, a sample of each!
Come Participate, Learn, and take home a sample of your efforts.
Cider: you can crush and press apples, strain the squeezings, and bottle your own sample.
Applesauce: you can cut, cook, strain, and package a sample to take home.
Pie: you can cut, season, bag and take home a ready-made pie filling just add the crust... which you can learn how to make, add apples, and bake! You can also sample a freshly baked pie! There will also be recipes available to take home with you. Each recipe will use apples as a main ingredient.
Please share with a neighbor that may not have Front Porch Forum. We look forward to seeing and greeting many neighbors!
