I want to pass along some information about upcoming open houses for the Mobile Home Innovation Project. This is a collaborative effort supported by the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board, Efficiency Vermont, High Meadows Fund, Vermont Community Foundation and many others. While there is still quite a bit of work to be done on the financing end, as the initial costs of these homes are much higher, their long term operating costs (in terms of energy costs), are substantially lower. Additionally these homes are far superior in terms of indoor air quality and comfort. This is a very exciting development and I am hoping folks will help spread the word! I might add, these homes are being produced right here in Vermont!
