Friday Food Affair - Point Training Meeting

Past event
Sep 28, 2018

Anyone who wants to train to be a "point" person at the Friday Food Affair @ 5, should join us at the Richmond Congregational Church this Friday, Sept 28 from 6 - 8 pm for a pot luck and point training session.

What is a Point? This is a person who helps the cooks in the kitchen. They make sure the cooks can get into the kitchen. They make sure the cooks know where everything is, and how to work the stoves and dish washer. They help put up tables and set the tables. They make sure the church is left in an acceptable state and that all compost, trash and laundry have been removed. They make sure the church is locked at the end of the evening. They record the menus and count the donations.

A point person may work from 3 - 5 hours on a Friday. They can be the "opener" or the "closer".

If you aren't able to cook, but want the FFA@5 to continue - being a point is a great alternative service. Could you do it once a month? More? Less?

The more who are trained as point - the easier it is to sustain the FFA.

The FFA @5 will start up again on Oct 7th on a trial basis, serving meals on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month. If all goes well - it will continue into 2019.

Even if you are not sure - join us to learn more about Richmond's Community Meal - the Friday Food Affair @5.
