Walling Day at the Vermont Granite Museum

This October 6th, Trow & Holden Company, the Vermont Granite Museum, and The Stone Trust will be partnering to host a 1-day instructional dry stone walling day in Barre, VT.

Participants will receive hands-on instruction covering the basics of dry stone walling, as lead by certified instructors from The Stone Trust. The Stone Trust is a fantastic educational organization based in Dummerston, VT. They offer a wide range of instructional workshops and certification programs based on the traditional walling standards established by the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain.

The lead instructor, Brian Post, is one of a handful of wallers in North America who have earned a Master Craftsmen level certification from the DSWA. One of his projects was just featured in Seven Days this week!

This introductory walling day is perfect for anyone interested in building or mending stone fences, constructing stone garden walls, or creating almost any other basic dry laid stone feature. And, most importantly, doing so with greater confidence that their work will stand the test of time!

Even more exciting, is the fact that this workshop will be helping to advance the continued rehabilitation of one of central Vermont's historic properties, while laying the groundwork for future workshops to be hosted in Barre!

Registration is required with only 20 participant spots available! For more information about the event and to register, visit the sign-up page at TheStoneTrust.org.
