Last year the Town of Chittenden received a recreational trails grant to extend the East Creek trail system on the town lands north of Barstow. This land was gifted to the school and recently transferred to the Town. The site hosts many public programs, including a Forest Friday initiative. Many Barstow classes utilize the outdoor pavilion, and the trails lead to a wonderful outdoor experience for ALL.

Our first delivery of construction material has arrived, so we can now begin to build a new bridge and a catwalk through wetter parts of the trail!

Next Saturday, September 29th the Rec Committee is planning a work day from 10AM – 2PM (rain date October 6th). Meeting in the parking area behind Barstow School.

Bring rakes, shovels, hammers, gloves and join the fun!!

And bring a bag lunch for a picnic break in the outdoor classroom.
